The History of Lithophane goes back 100's of years. It is a carving in a material that allows light thru when carved thin enough to show the object. We use the same material that is used for solid surface counter tops in kitchens. When back lite they take on 3D properities and really enhanse the photo. I personally prefer hanging them in a sun lite window, but if you want to highlight a area in any room we do provide solid Red Oak boxes with light installed.
When ordering a lithophane, lets say a 5"x7" that will be the size of the carved area, the material size will be 6"x8", having a 1/2" boarder on all four sides. The finished quality of the Lithophane will depend on the quality of photo you e-mail us. Sharpness and resolution are very important, please no images less then 300 dpi.

From a photo to a Lithophane
lithophane, you will be pleased with the detail, after doing my first one I couldn't believe the way it turned out.
1) E-mail me your photo of choice, in a tif. jpg. bmp. or jpeg. file format only.
2) make sure the photo is attached to e-mail and include you shipping address, name that matches the PayPal invoice, so I can match the photo with the money transfer. ( this is important )
